History of Brian Holland Legacy Day

Brian Holland was a community leader, teacher and mentor in Asbury Park, New Jersey, known for his advocacy for those whose voices weren’t being heard and for his generous spirit. After he passed away in a train accident, his family and friends established the Brian Holland Legacy Foundation in his honour, focusing on LGBTQ+ rights, arts and education, and community support. In 2019 the Foundation created Brian Holland Legacy Day to ensure his legacy of kindness, mentorship and advocacy continues.
